My love for food comes from my childhood. Growing up in France, I could usually be found in the kitchen around my mothers’ apron strings as her little assistant, ready to taste the leftover cake batter from the mixing bowl. Food has always been my comfort blanket; but, what I’ve always loved more than anything is the excitement of getting ready to host friends and family.
In my 20s I became vegan, and instead of restricting what I could cook and eat, it opened doors for me to a totally different way of cooking. I had to relearn how to cook using different techniques and ingredients, experimenting with spices and flavours. I furthermore became more conscious about the impact our food has on the planet.
What has never changed is my love for feeding people. My biggest joy is to gather people around a table and cook for them. Food is my love language.
Today I cook food that is seasonal, using fresh ingredients to create dishes that are simple but tasty. I’m always striving to be as sustainable as possible in my cooking, but my main desire is to always create food that brings comfort to people.
